As you can see Aru is very close to the Ugandan border and in fact is mostly supplied from Arua in Uganda. We will fly to Kampala from Heathrow and then probably fly on to Arua before travelling to Aru by road.
We will be living in the 'guest house' on the Diocesan compound.
Apparently it's already equipped with a solar panel and battery so we should be able to see our way around in the evenings, but there's no running water so we'll just have to get used to camping again!
We'll be living next door to Dr. Francesca Elloway who has lived and worked in Aru for many years. We are very grateful to her for all her advice about what we need to take with us, what we can buy there etc. and for providing photos so we can see what it's like before we arrive.

We've only got one more injection each to go and our malaria tablets should arrive this week. We also hope to be able to get our visas sorted out shortly and then we'll be able to confirm our departure date (currently Feb 19!). It's getting close!
We'll then only have to make sure we've got our mosquito nets, suncream, wind-up torches, insect repellant.....................
